This January, You Should Visit These Seven Amazing Restaurants in Delaware

by Zachary Foust

It is a big surprise that Delaware has such a wide choice of restaurants of such high quality. This is by no means a complete list, and it doesn't even scratch the surface of all the great places to eat in Delaware. As we move into 2023, these are just a few of the restaurants in Delaware that we liked.

In the month of January, let's get down to business and investigate Delaware's seven most outstanding dining establishments.

1. Krazy Kat’s, Wilmington

Montchanin Village is a superb American destination located in the heart of Wilmington. The village is a rebuilt 19th-century hamlet built by the DuPont family. It now has 11 historic buildings and 28 places for guests to stay.

In one of those buildings, you'll find Krazy Kat's Restaurant, known for its varied and upscale food that emphasizes using fresh, in-season ingredients. The steaks, pork tenderloin, sides, and beverages at this place are absolutely out of this world.

2. Abbott’s on Broad Creek, Laurel

Everyone at Laurel, some of whom had never eaten there before and others who were regulars, gushed about how good their meals were at Abbott's. During our time here, the crowd was bustling, and there was a murder mystery party going on in one of the larger rooms.

Even though they serve prime rib and crab cake for supper on Sundays, some residents likely go to Abbott's each and every night.

3. Brunch n’ Lunch, Dover

Stop by Brunch n' Lunch for an excellent lunch sandwich if you're looking for some Southern-style deliciousness prepared by a young and upcoming chef. Go straight for the restaurant's signature dish, the Piggy Mac Ride, a burger covered with macaroni, cheese, and bacon.

The Hot Chick, which consisted of a crispy chicken sandwich with a spicy bite, was also an excellent choice; you shouldn’t miss out.

4. Crooked Hammock Craft Brewery, Lewes

The Crooked Hammock is the place to go in Delaware if you want to taste Jimmy Buffett's music. The Crooked Hammock is known for its live music, outdoor activities, hammocks, and great craft beers.

The pulled pork from Carolina and a side of asparagus were delicious meals for us. Oh, and don't forget to put in an order for one of their artisanal brews.

5. Jimmy’s Grille, Rehoboth Beach

The local restaurant company Jimmy's Grille, which has three locations in the area, has adopted the phrase "peace, love, and chicken" as its tagline. You shouldn't eat anything bigger than your head, but the meringue on these pies is an exception.

Final Thoughts

Delaware is a small state, but there are plenty of great places to eat to satisfy any hunger. From steaks and hog tenderloin at Krazy Kat's to the Piggy Mac Ride at Brunch n' Lunch, there's something for everyone.

Don't miss Abbott's on Broad Creek for prime rib and crab cakes or Crooked Hammock Brewery for craft beer and outdoor games. At Jimmy's Grille, where the slogan is "Peace, love, and chicken," don't forget to try the meringue pie.

Since Delaware has so many great restaurants, it's no surprise that foodies like to go there. So, why delay? Start making plans for your Delaware food trip right away!
